Slow is a dining table made of solid oak. The floating table cover creates a light and sophisticated impression on the table. Due to its straight legs, the table is also suitable for small city apartments. The design of the table has taken into account that it can be sent in a flat package to the customer. Slow dining table is handcrafted by Anttiina Oy in Kauhajoki, Finland.
The design of the details has been carefully considered. The corner bevel is not only an interesting visual detail; it makes it easier to pass the table corner in a tight space compared to a traditional sharp table corner.
“I have repeatedly used the services of Jokinen Konu Design. They are a skilled and reliable partner. With the new products designed, we have gained new retailers and customers.”
We begin the design process by studying the market situation of the product under design. This comparison helps to understand the competitive situation of the product and helps to delimit the features of the concept.
Ideation and sketching
After the market research, the ideation and sketching phase begins. The sketching is usually done by hand. We like to consider many options and make a lot of drawings first and then narrow down the options to find the best idea concept.
3D modeling
We have excellent knowledge of the use of modeling programs and product drawings are created with the help of editable 3D models. In 3D modeling, the shapes and exact details of products, different components and materials can be precisely defined.
Image rendering
Before a product really exists, we can create rendered images by 3D modeling and rendering the product concept. This way the customer can see how the finished product would look before the first prototype is created.
Dimensions for production
As part of our design process, we provide the customer with exact dimensions for production.
Prototype and production
The prototype of the table was made in the Anttiina factory in Kauhajoki, Finland.
